Missions

Lakeview Church believes that missions work starts at home. Our Missions projects begin right in our own City of Quesnel.
Every October we offer a great alternative to the Halloween scene by providing a free Church and Community Harvest Carnival complete with games, prizes, food, costumes and fireworks. This is a well organized and very well attended event. It’s organizers have managed to walk the fine line that Halloween can create.
We support the local Salvation Army Food Bank and ministry on a monthly basis.
We participate in the Annual Community Carol Sing to which our entire City is invited.
We are part of the Annual Gospel presentation at our Cities biggest annual public event; Billy Barker Days.
We are active members of the Quesnel Christian Ministerial Association.

Lakeview Church believes that we have a serious responsibility to support Missions
in our own area and country as well.
For over twenty years we have played an important role in bringing the good news of the Gospel of Salvation to the central interior of British Columbia. As members of the Apostolic Church of Pentecost of Canada, we network with about ten other churches in our area to ensure healthy growth and consistent ministry standards in our District.
As one of about 170 affiliated church’s of the Apostolic Church of Pentecost of Canada; Lakeview is active in supporting and contributing to the overall vision of A.C.O.P. for our nation.
We are also pleased to support Eston College, in Eston Saskatchewan as our official bible school. Eston is a degree accredited school with strong emphasis on learning and spiritual growth. At Eston the nurture the spiritual, intellectual and practical growth of each student.
OUR MISSION
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

At Lakeview Church we believe Jesus commanded to go beyond our own boarders and take the gospel to the entire world. Our International emphases are very important.
UGANDA
Lakeview joins with a number of other A.C.O.P. Churches establishing “Feeding Stations” for children in Uganda. This critical program not only saves physical lives but provides access to the gospel It is not enough to feed the body, we must also feed the soul. But when the pain of hunger is too great it is not enough to talk only. These feeding stations prove the message of God’s love every day to these dear people.
COSTA RICA
We are very excited to be involved with missionaries John and Debbie Overholt as they establish new Churches in Costa Rica. At present we are blessed to be a primary supporter of one Pastoral family who are released to give themselves full time to the gospel work because of our support. Our intention is to stay very close to the Overholt’s and support their ministry as possible.
At preset our Pastor is planning to visit the Overholts in the New Year to make plans for a short term missions trip from Lakeview to help the Costa Rican work . Watch this page for coming information.

MEXICO
Over the years Lakeview has participated in a number of short term missions trips to Mexico. Many of our youth received valuable training in sharing the Gospel and in preparation for this journeys. We continue to hold Mexico close in our hearts and expect the Lord has more for us to do their in the future.
IRELAND
Lakeview’s latest and one of its most exciting mission involvements is the support of the ‘Pilgrims” in Ireland. They have worked very hard and established a unique strategy to reach the people in their community. This young couple is only need a little financial and moral support and we know God will use them mightily. We are glad to be part of that supporting team.
The Republic of Ireland is the youngest nation in the European Union. The average age in Ireland is 35, which means the Republic of Ireland is full of young couples with young families needing to hear the message of Love, Hope and Peace that Jesus Christ brings.
We will pursue the spiritually lost and interested through relationally based ministry with our primary focus on creating special interest groups, coffee ministry, ministry center, and young adult programs.
Why send missionaries to Ireland? The Republic of Ireland needs to hear the good news of Jesus Christ just like any other nation. However the challenge is to present the message of Jesus Christ in a non-offensive way that will not stir up political issues that create a barrier to hearing the message.
The Republic of Ireland is currently in the midst of an economic recession. Many young families are moving back to Ireland to reacquaint themselves with their Irish heritage bringing with them their North Americian world view of the Christian faith. With these young new nationals, there is a growing need to reach them with the Love of Jesus Christ through non-tradtional ministry, children’s and youth programs, special interest groups, and planting relevant Christ following communities that can meet their spiritual needs.
Future Plans. We will be setting up a relationally based ministry via a “coffee shop” which will be our primary way for building trusting relationships, in which we can plant an effective Bible believing, Christ Centered, and Holy Spirit led community.
The monies generated from the “coffee shop” will be used for training families in biblical principals. Families will be trained and equipped through hosting and facilitating faith building events, local community programs, young family work shops, hands on practical life learning for young mom’s (such as meal preparations), cooking classes, family focused parenting classes, new believers discipleship and leadership training and development.
